“And if you think I don't miss you every day...”

He goes into his refrigerator for another beer. Sensitive system be damned, this was one of those times where he needed to be drunk. He knew this was going to happen when Santos won the nomination. Maybe he should’ve had that beer with Donna and Will, it must’ve given her hope that they could work together again. He slumped down on his couch.

“And if you think I don't miss you every day...”

How could he let his guard down like that!?! Did he really think she was going to hop on him and kiss him and everything would be ok? Donna must be right, without her to deflate it his ego has grown too large, now he’s delusional. It was just…he had always hoped. Maybe he had always been delusional. He ran his hands through his hair; maybe it was time to stop drinking. It wasn’t helping; he didn’t think anything was actually going to help him at this point. There was nothing he could do about what he said, and how she had just left him there.

“And if you think I don't miss you every day...”

He broke down, and cried. He didn’t know how he had made it through the day before crying. He had wanted to, because he knew he couldn’t help her. Why was everything good in his life always taken away? What had he done to deserve feeling like this every damn day since she left? Why couldn’t he just figure out what to do and fix it, fix them?

“And if you think I don't miss you every day...”

Shit. There was a knock at the door. “One Minute!” Somehow he made it to the kitchen, and he threw water on his face. Damn. There was another knock. “I said ‘One Minute!’” He took one deep breath, and opened the door. “What!?!” He stopped. It was her. He stood there too stunned for, well anything.

“What did you mean earlier?”
